Motivation is the key to success. When I want to accomplish something, I usually start by making a set of long and short-term goals. The goals I make are measurable, so I can view my progress. Seeing where I’ve come from to where I am now is a great motivator.
The hard part of motivation is starting in the first place. Once you get past the first initial step you start to pick up motivational momentum. Like the snowball once it starts rolling it just gets bigger and more difficult to stop.
Keeping a schedule helps. When you have a set time to do something it is much easier than asking yourself when will I get this done or I hope I have enough willpower today.
Once you start something, motivation will follow and if you keep trying to accomplish your goal, that motivation turns into habit. Once it’s habit, you’ll find it hard to stop. Forming good habits is the result of motivation, you just need to start, and it gets easier from there.
