Academy Theater Website WordPress Website Design

The Academy Theater in Portland, Oregon was originally opened in 1948. It was a thriving theater, but after 20 years, it was eventually closed. In 2006, the current owners came in to restore this theater to it’s original working condition with the goal of revitalizing the Montavilla area in Portland.
When the owners contacted us, they were in need of a face-lift for their current website. They were also interested in being able to have their staff manage the website, especially since their showtimes change weekly.
After a visit to their location and meeting with their staff, it was apparent that they had a unique theater and this uniqueness needed to be translated online. They didn’t want another cookie-cutter theater website that just focused on showtimes, they were in need of a website that was as honest as their theater.
We ended up designing and developing a fully custom WordPress website. Their website includes a completely custom back-end that makes content management a breeze. It also includes features like: displaying the current movies that are playing, easy to access movie trailers, news, a dinner menu, photo galleries, and even the ability to poll users on what movies they’d like to see playing in the theater.
All in all, it was great working with the Academy Theater and designing a website that we can be proud of. We hope you like it as much as we do.
