Collecting Payments on Your Website

We help companies collect payments directly on their websites. It’s important that your customers make payments directly on your website. The last thing you want is for your customers to jump to another website to make their payment. That disconnect can cause customers to drop off and not move forward with their payment.

For online payments, we can implement both one-time and recurring payments. We also help both for-profit and nonprofit companies.

Nonprofits often want to collect payments online from their donors for a couple of reasons.

First, is membership. They want their members to be able to not only sign up and pay for their membership online, but also be able to update their billing information.

Second, is for donations. They want their customers to be able to donate online. It’s crucial that their customers can be able to do this painlessly.

For both membership and donations, payments can be one-time or recurring.

For-profit businesses might sell their products online. These products can be physical or digital. The products may be taxed, and require accurate shipping charges to be calculated (we also integrate into all the major shipping carriers). A for-profit business might offer subscriptions, and require recurring payments.

In order to collect payments online, you need to also have secure hosting, an SSL certificate, and a merchant account. We provide the first two, and we help you set up the third, a merchant account. We highly recommend Stripe as it’s the most robust and lowest priced option on the market. Lastly, we walk our customers through the process of signing up for Stripe.

Something most won’t think about, are the notifications/receipt of purchase. The customer needs to have confirmation that their transaction was processed and also have a record of it. This can be accomplished by notifications both on the website and by email.

After we set up everything, we run test orders through the system to make sure everything’s calculating as it should. When everything is confirmed and approved, we take the system out of test mode and go live.
