I’ve created a quick 2 minute video on how to sign up for a Facebook Business Page. I will walk you through the signup process and provide enough instruction so you can sign up right now.
Video: How to Setup a Facebook Business Page – Graticle Design
Hi, this is Shawn Hooghkirk with Graticle. We’re a web design and development agency.
Today I want to show you how to setup a Facebook Business Page for your brand or company. I’m going to do a basic setup so that when you’re finished watching this video, you’re able to create one yourself.
First, you’ll need to head over to www.facebook.com/pages/create to see the page I’m looking at.
This process is fairly self explanatory. You just want to click on the appropriate category (Local Business or Place, Company, Organization or Institution, Brand or Product, Artist, Band or Public Figure, Entertainment, Cause or Community). Once you click on one of these categories, it will let you drill down further by giving you sub-categories. If you’re not seeing the sub-category you were looking for, try clicking on another category and searching there.
I’m going to click Company or Organization, and the sub-category of Computers/Technology. I’m also going to name my page “Bob’s Computer Co.” I’ll then agree to the terms and then click Get Started.
The next page is where you’re going to add a basic description for your page along with your website’s URL (if you have one). There are two other questions, and after you click the correct radio button, click Save Info to continue onto the next step.
The step is where you’ll add your Profile Picture for your page. Typically you’ll want this to be an easy to recognize icon or logo for your brand. The simpler the better. This image will be shrunken down depending on what you’re doing (commenting, etc.) later on.
On the next step you’ll want to add your page to your Favorites. This adds your page to the sidebar of Facebook so you can always come back to it easily.
Now that you have the page created, the first thing you’ll want to do is Like you page by clicking the Like button. That way people who are connected to you can see that you Like the page. You can also add a Cover photo now. This image will be the masthead at the top of your page. With the masthead you can add more detail and really showcase your brand or company.
Here’s an example of our Facebook Page to show you what a Cover Photo and Profile Image will look like: http://s.graticle.com/zjit
Next you’ll want to click “Update Page Info.” Here you’ll want to go line-by-line through each of the items until you’ve either filled it out, or decided that piece of information isn’t necessary for your page.
That’s about it. That will get your company online with a Facebook Business Page.
