KLTV Website

KLTV Web Design

When KLTV, Longview’s local public TV station, reached out to us for a website redesign, we knew we had a fantastic opportunity to serve our community. Founded in 1973 as a class at Lower Columbia College, KLTV has a rich history and a significant role in keeping Cowlitz County informed and engaged. To honor that legacy, we aimed to create a site that was both intuitive and functional. With direct links for live channel viewing and easy access to archived recordings like city council meetings, we’ve made sure that essential local information is just a click away.

But it’s not just about information; it’s about participation. That’s why we integrated a membership join feature into the website, offering visitors a way to support the station and get involved. Members can enjoy exclusive content and privileges, and for those who’d rather show their support with some swag, we also included an online store. Whether you’re in the market for past programs, coffee cups, or key chains, it’s all there.

What’s particularly gratifying for us is the ongoing relationship we have with KLTV. We don’t just design and then step away; we host and manage their website, ensuring it stays up-to-date and performs optimally. Regular updates are part of the package, making sure that the website evolves with the needs of both KLTV and the broader community.

KLTV’s commitment to providing a diverse, informative, and accessible platform resonates strongly with us. Working with them has not only been a project but a partnership in community service. We’re proud to be part of an endeavor that offers so much to residents and nonprofit organizations in our area. This isn’t just another website to us; it’s a cornerstone of our local community, and we’re thrilled to contribute to its success.

KLTV’s new homepage opens with the phrase that defines their mission—boldly positioned over a familiar local landscape. It sets the tone for a site grounded in service, community, and accessibility.

The updated navigation is simplified and mobile-friendly, offering quick access to classes, schedules, archives, and contact details. The design ensures a seamless user experience for visitors of all ages and tech backgrounds.

High-contrast content boxes guide users to KLTV’s most-used features: the weekly programming schedule and access to city council meetings. These sections were prioritized to meet the needs of frequent viewers and civic-minded residents.

This section tells the story of KLTV’s evolution from a classroom concept to a nonprofit media mainstay. Clear typography and clean layout make it easy to digest while underscoring the station’s community-driven legacy.

This call-to-action encourages visitors to engage with KLTV’s content beyond the screen. Whether purchasing a show or requesting event coverage, the layout makes this process direct and user-friendly.

Behind-the-scenes imagery like this captures KLTV’s role as a hands-on broadcaster. Real community members in action give the site authenticity and showcase the station’s commitment to local storytelling.

This custom-built footer mirrors the mission statement with clarity and emphasis. Paired with KLTV’s contact details, it leaves a lasting impression of trust and community service.

Built to Serve the Community—Online and Off

KLTV has always been more than a station. It’s a platform for connection, education, and civic engagement. Our goal for this project was simple: make sure the website worked as hard as the people behind the cameras. From modernizing the navigation to making key features easier to access—like live streams, program schedules, and city council coverage—this site was designed with usability and inclusiveness at its core.

The result is a resource that truly represents KLTV’s mission: accessible, relevant, and ready for the future.
