Graticle Design entered the City of Taft, California’s logo competition with a robust design that pays homage to the city’s rich history and enduring spirit. Our design features a hardworking oil field worker, representative of Taft’s storied oil industry, set against the backdrop of a derrick. The worker’s silhouette is framed by the sun, symbolizing the city’s lofty aspirations. “EST. 1910” proudly indicates the city’s long-standing foundation, while the bold lettering of “CITY OF TAFT” grounds the logo with a strong sense of identity. Available in both a striking orange hue, reflecting the city’s vibrant energy, and a classic grayscale variant, this logo captures the essence of Taft—a city built on tradition, strength, and unity. The design from Graticle is a visual narrative of Taft’s past, present, and future, encapsulating the heart of the city in a single emblem.
